Why Invest in Stocks
Dec 14, 2010
For people that have never invested in the stock market before it can seem like a complex, mysterious endeavor in which they will forever remain an outsider. But this perception is far from the truth. Anyone interested in getting their money to work for them, whether to save for retirement, children’s college education, a down payment on a house, or any of the other myriad reasons people set aside money, it is crucial to consider the stock market as a place to stash your cash. You owe it to yourself to overcome your fear of the unknown and discover the stock market.
Why, you may ask? Because historically the stock market always, eventually goes up in value. Although this is not a guarantee, by any means that you will make money in the stock market, or that you won’t lose money there, the risk, over time, of either losing or not making money, is miniscule. Any objective look at the stock market over 5 years, 10 years, 20 years or more sees that the trend is always upwards. And the upward movement is significantly greater in the stock market than anywhere else you can put your money.
